The Lycanomicon

Description

Blast! It’s gone!

All of my finalized research and writings, gone! Someone, or something, has taken the Lycanomicon, the one book that I treasure the most. Out of all of the things I have researched, none have captivated me like the lycanthrope, or, as they call themselves amongst their own kind, Grahll. These lycanthropes, it seems, are just like everyone else for the most part, but the rumors and superstition of the masses, aided by religious prodding from churches interested in fending off any potential threat, real or imagined to themselves and their people, have demonized this… race. And believe me. I am one to know when it comes to daemons. But that is another story for another day.

Either way… I fear for my lycanthropology research. Such writings are considered blasphemy, because they challenge the church and local beliefs. If found, odds are that the book will be destroyed. I can only hope that is was stolen by someone, another lycanthropologist, or perhaps a monstrumologist... or someone that will take good care of it, and use its knowledge to help change the times, and end the merciless killing of these people, as well as those only suspected of having been struck by such an affliction.

My… once again, the hour is late, and my searching for the book has made me weary. And hark. I hear wolfsong outside my window. Perhaps, tomorrow, I will gather my notes, and go out to research yet again. I hope to get closer, learn more, and write an even better book. In the morning.

The scan killed this thing's cover. Killed! All of the silver blew out and the black doesn't show up enough. However, beyond the story from our mysterious italicized friend, this book has a less fictitious story about it. This book, oddly enough, was rescued. Someone at school was tearing its middle out with an exactoblade in frustration (Midtermosis). I convinced him to instead give it to me. To me, needless destruction of books is a sin. But… this one was pretty darn beat up. Many of its pages had been gouged out in the middle. So, I decided that since it was already so beat up, I might as well make it into something. It still is something of a book, since it has a page of writing in it. But it’s also become a box to hold some of my werewolf things in.

Thank you for looking!
