Well folks, where I live, Saint Nicolas Day isn’t really celebrated…however, that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t post something for it anyway!
But, why a wolf photo? Well, funny thing… Saint Nicholas… you know, Jolly ol’ Saint Nick? He happens to be one of the patron saints of wolves. In fact, it’s said that wolves spend the night of Saint Nicholas in meditation, and won’t hurt anyone even if provoked.
Curiously enough, in places such as Denmark and Norway, long ago, wolf spirits were sometimes seen as protective things, and sometimes were said to reward those who had been faithful to them throughout the year… sound familiar?
Maybe there is something to Santa ‘Claws’ ;D

Aw, what a handsome cutie he is. ^^
As soon as I get some financial stability (college student = broke! >_<), I'm going to start volunteering at wolf rescue lodges in my state. Maybe I'll even be able to visit Mission Wolf in Colorado; the owner is American Indian, and I've seen videos of her and her furry friends on YouTube. Fingers crossed!
