Description
Territory Name: Esurien
Character Name: Jhett
Character Species: North American Sand Squink
Rank: Omega
Gender: Male
Age: 28 (He’s pretty sure that’s right)
Powers/Abilities: Sand Squinks are known for their stunning electrical capabilities. This one, however is more interested in the musical pitches and visual display of this talent than he should be, and has not yet learned how to direct this ability as an offensive assault. However, if someone were to attack Jhett, odds are he can manage to zap an opponent if they keep a grip on him.
Brief Character History/Description: Jhett doesn’t remember his mother… in fact, he doesn’t really recall younger years of his life at all. As far as he can remember, he grew up with the aid of some kind ‘taurs, but mostly remembers fending for himself. Thankfully, this is rather easy, since he’ll eat almost anything from fruits, mushrooms and bugs, to fish and whatever other game he can catch. This lead to a nomadic wilderness lifestyle, and he’s content to sleep under the stars, or, if he needs, in make-shift shelters.
However, this is not to say that Jhett is a hermit. He loves to make friends wherever he goes, however, many are easily exasperated by his punning and occasional pranks. In fact, the pranks he’s pulled have gotten him into trouble on numerous occasions, and he loves telling tales of these and other adventures (some true, others not). Truth is, Jhett loves all forms of creative expression, and loves to entertain, ranging from creating strange sculptures from saplings and stones, to utilizing his electrical abilities to perform light-and-sound shows.
“Hey! If you happen to see me around, say hello! I may be on my way to another destination, but I’ll be likely to stop and share a story or other little joules of information. In fact, if it strikes me, I may put on a shocking show for you. But don’t worry. While I appreciate payment in thunderous applause, you can be positive that I’ll never charge you.”
I guess that after putzing around witht he Nashtaur it was only a matter of time before I did something like this.
Since I’m so dang busy, and simply cannot keep up with things like livejournal RP, I figured I’d try a different kind of RP dealie. Enter , where I can do things at my own pace, no activity checks, no thesis papers for character applications, where I can play my own characters on my own terms. And, it’s art based challenges means I get to work more at my craft. Since I don’t know how active I’ll be, I decided to pick something obscure but fun and mythical, so I wouldn’t keep a wolf or coyote species or something popular from anyone. I briefely (thirty seconds) considered the Asiatic Bonnacon for a taur, then thought maybe I’d keep it ‘cracky’ but take a page from cowboy folklore and make a Canteenfish mer-taur, got briefly distracted by the Teumessian Fox, considered the Myan Camazotz, since someone had an Anubis taur, but eventually figured what the hell, I’d just go with lumberjack folklore and make a Sand Squink, since I had a personality picked out for one as an overdeveloped background character for Eldritch (I have so many characters that exist in Mapleview, that will only exist in the background, alas). So, I taurized the character and here he is!
