Faith is taking things well, I think.

Man guys, I’ve been looking forward to drawing Maggie in one of her karasutenguie (this is a karasutengu: [link] [link] ) forms for ages! She sure isn’t pretty, but she is fun to draw. Hehee. You know, in early stages of her design (back when this was doodles on napkins and postit-notes), she had just a bird’s beak, without the teeth inside. However, that toothy grin of hers is just such a common expression for her, that with the beak, her expressions didn’t read as Maggie-like.

So, funny little story. I kind of made the same mistake Faith made, once upon a time.

When I was a little girl visiting my grandmother in Arizona, I had little to do during the midday heat and all the time in the world. So, I drew and daydreamed and invented. One year, I came up with a race of wingless gryphons, and thought they were just the bee’s knees. They were often just bird heads on lion bodies. I felt o-so-creative at the time, as little girls tend to feel.

Then, a few years later, I learned about some of the various types of sphinxes… including the Heiracosphinx. Which looked just like my silly wingless gryphons. Something I thought was new was actually remarkably old. It taught me a little lesson about how important it is to learn as much as you can, as fast as you can. So, I devote a lot of time to reading and learning in my off-time. I daresay that if I had a little more money at my disposal, I would have ventured off to a college where I could have gotten a degree in folklore… which is only slightly less useful than a degree in art XD

Eldritch updates on Wednesdays!

Disclaimer: READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING

Eldritch is for Mature audiences, will contain violence and mild nudity, as well as adult situations, themes, and language. Some pages will be marked as such on sites such as Deviantart and may be unavailable to minors.

The author (Nashoba Hostina) has everything planned out, and if something does not immediately make sense, it will later. If there are questions about what will happen, answers will not be given until the issues come up in the natural course of the plot. Plot advancement will be slow at times, and peppered with “LOLpages” that do not advance the story much. These are not “Filler.” These are part of how life goes in this comic.

This is the Author’s story. If something is “Wrong” it is because the author intended it to be so, and thus, it is in fact, “Correct.” The author has done a lot of work and research and has a lot scripted and planned (Please give her the benefit of the doubt here, she does know what she’s doing). This means that ‘requested storylines’ and suggestions have no place in this comic. This also means, please do not share related ideas with her, or send her previews to your own works.

In short, do NOT send requests, share ideas with, or make suggestions to, the author.

However, should you IGNORE what is written above and insist on making requests, suggestions or sharing ideas in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER regarding this comic BE AWARE that in doing so you are GIVING the artist this idea, and should she already have a similar aspect to the comic already planned, or should she take the suggestion, you will NOT be compensated. (Sorry to have to add this since the last book guys, but some people seriously do not listen, and I don’t want someone to get mad at me later on).

As a courtesy to your fellow readers, also, please do not make predictions about what will happen in the comments section of these pages. Saying you think you know what may happen is fine, but actually stating what you think will happen is not. Because if you happen to be right, that means you’re spoiling the other readers, and no one likes That Spoiler Guy. In a similar vein… be nice to one another, okay guys? Please?

The author sadly must have a day job, and since it takes supplies and LOTS of time to make this, cannot afford to do art all the time. Thus, Eldritch is done on the author’s free time, which means page quality may vary. Also, updates may be missed if the author has a busy week. She apologizes for the inconvenience.

And, finally… if you don’t like it, don’t read it! No one’s forcing you to look at this :3 Go outside and play or something!

Thank you for reading!

(Turns and runs screaming for the door only to find out it only opens in...)

Really good work, especially with the very humorous last panel.

Darn it I would really like to see her change like that, but shouldn't her ears be smaller, oh well she's cuter that way.

*chuckles* when it comes to talented shapeshifters like Japanese Kami, I think their ears can be whatever size they like XD That, and I like drawing pointy ears...

Yeah, pointy ears are fun. I guess the creator of Jak and Daxter must've like those big ears. :hm: Though they just look cute on the girls.

Actually, her grin in that last panel does make Maggie certainly a fair bit crazy-like enough that it probably fits her =P

Nice work, though, I actually like the design and was wondering what you were intending her to look like, as I had the nudging feeling she probably not "only" had a "mundane" crow as her alternate form.

Tehee, thank you! And yeah, I couldn't resist giving Maggie a few forms, since many Japanese kami could turn into a plethora of things.
